    Director, KPF

Yee Tak Lau is a Director at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) with over two decades of experience shaping some of Asia's most ambitious and culturally resonant urban environments. Her practice is defined by a rare ability to synthesise historical depth, civic purpose, and architectural innovation at the largest scales — from supertall towers to intricate mixed-use districts. Currently, Yee Tak is leading two landmark projects in Shanghai that exemplify this approach. The Plaza 66 Retail Pavilion reimagines one of Shanghai's most iconic commercial addresses with a garden-centric, pedestrian-first design — intricate bronze screens inspsired by traditional Chinese garden imagery, cascading green terraces, and a near-zero-carbon structural system make it a benchmark for urban regeneration. In parallel, the Kimpton Xujiahui Shanghai transforms a historic serviced apartment tower within the Grand Gateway complex into a five-star hotel, deepening KPF's hospitality portfolio in China. Beyond Shanghai, Yee Tak has driven landmark mixed-use developments across mainland China — Plaza 66, Forum 66, Spring City 66, and Westlake 66 — as well as WF Central, adjacent to Beijing's Forbidden City. In Bangkok, her contributions span the full breadth of KPF's presence in the city: from the Rosewood Bangkok, an intimate luxury hotel that introduced KPF to Thailand's hospitality market, to the UOB Plaza Bangkok, a crystalline headquarters tower redefining the modern workplace; from the multiple buildings she led within One Bangkok, a 370,000 sqm integrated district; to Project Hercules, a wellness-focused mixed-use development designed for the next generation. Taken together, Yee Tak's portfolio at KPF represents a comprehensive engagement with the Asia Pacific region — city by city, typology by typology — at precisely the moment when the region is reshaping the future of the built environment.
