    Erin Shaw

    Managing Director, Beacon Partners

    Erin handles investment strategy and leasing oversight for Beacon’s 1 million square foot office portfolio as well as working on future office developments and acquisitions. Erin spent 15 years at Meritage Properties, a boutique owner/operator of office and mixed-use properties based in New York. Erin is a Commissioner on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Planning Commission. She also sits on the Urban Land Institute's Small Scale Development Council - Gold Flight at the national level. She's involved in the Charlotte Region Commercial Board of Realtors' (CRCBR) as a member of both the Advisory Board and the New Member Committee. Erin sits on the Board of Ambassadors for Levine Children’s Hospital as well as being a member of its Dreamcatcher Society. She has held several committee positions as a volunteer at Dilworth Elementary and also served as a semester-long mentor for the Project Destined internship program.

    Founding Partner, Proffitt Dixon Partners

    Stuart Proffitt- Proffitt Dixon Partners, Founding Partner Proffitt Dixon Partners is a multifamily investment and development firm with a focus on the development of Class-A apartment communities and self-storage across the Southeast. Proffitt Dixon Partners has closed transactions valued at over $1 billion since 2009. The firm has an active development pipeline in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Stuart, a co-founder of Proffitt Dixon Partners, has been involved as a principal in the ownership and/or development of more than 450,000 SF of retail and office and 4,750 residential units. Prior to forming Proffitt Dixon Partners, Stuart was the vice president of mixed- use development at Pappas Properties and Director of Development for Champion Development Group in Los Angeles, California. Stuart graduated cum laude from North Carolina State University, and in 2004 earned his Master of Business Administration and Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

    Jeff Cernuto

    President, Princeton Communities

    As President of Princeton Communities, Jeff manages multiple entities involved in both residential and commercial development. He has played a role in the development and management of numerous projects from single family development to ground up retail. Jeff holds a BS in Business Administration from Kutztown University (PA) and an MBA from Pfeiffer University (NC).

    Beth Silverman

    Executive Director, The Lotus Campaign Inc.

    Beth Silverman is a senior practitioner and thought leader at the intersections of social impact, urban planning, real estate development and public policy. Beth’s 15-year career includes leadership roles in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors focused on building livable, equitable and resilient communities. Since 2018, Beth has served as the founding Executive Director of the Lotus Campaign, an innovative nonprofit real estate development start-up that tackles homelessness by engaging in private sector partnerships and leveraging capital as a tool for good. Under Beth’s leadership, the Lotus Campaign developed 20 partnerships with nonprofits, landlords and funders to facilitate housing for over 355 individuals at an annual cost of less than $800 per person per year and received an honorable mention in Fast Company’s 2020 World Changing Ideas competition. Beth also participated in the 2020 class of SEED20 nonprofit entrepreneurs. Prior to leading the Lotus Campaign, Beth tackled complex land use and real estate development challenges in communities across the U.S. and internationally. From 2014 to 2018, Beth served as Vice President of Advisory Services at the Urban Land Institute, designing technical assistance programs that addressed a range of challenges from equitable urban redevelopment to planning for resilience. She co-created the Equitable Economic Development Fellowship program with the National League of Cities and Policy Link to help equity, transparency, sustainability and community engagement become driving forces in local economic development efforts and to strengthen public sector leadership. From 2005 to 2013, Beth oversaw and managed large-scale real estate, policy, and economic development initiatives throughout the New York City region. While at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, Beth managed a $110 million portfolio of 10 projects that created over 300 units of affordable housing, five new cultural assets, and 16,000 square feet of

    Lat Purser

    President, Lat Purser & Associates, Inc.

    Lat joined LPA in 2004. He is currently president of LPA, a full service real estate firm focused on the Carolinas, Coastal Georgia, and northern Florida. Lat lives in Charlotte NC with his wife, Alice, and daughter, Margot.

    John Porter

    President, Charter Properties, Inc.

    John is a graduate of The University of Wisconsin worked in Chicago while attending graduate school at the University of Chicago. At M. Myers Properties (later Prairie Management), John led a group managing 5,000 housing units and 250,000 square feet of urban self-storage in Milwaukee and Chicago. This included assisted housing for seniors and families under FHA subsidy programs comprised of high-rise, town home, garden and infill units. The firm also developed and managed market rate product for rent and for sale, including a 50 story Class A rental property in downtown Chicago in joint venture with Dean Witter Realty. John secured a competitive HUD loan to renovate a non-profit, low income family site in the Goldcoast. In 1999, John and his wife, a Charlotte native, moved back home and since then John has developed Class A multifamily properties in North Carolina as a partner in Charter Properties. Founded in 1971, Charter invests in multifamily with a wealthy family office. John has developed over 5,000 units in the Charlotte and Raleigh markets and has planned, built and sold large mixed use land parcels. He recently finished a 300 suburban mixed use deal and has 300 units under construction with another 1,500 units in the development pipeline. John has led numerous successful rezoning efforts. John is Past President of the Apartment Association of North Carolina and the Charlotte Apartment Association. He is a Broker in North and South Carolina. In ULI, he participates in Urban Plan and MFC-Blue and is past chair of MFC-Bronze. He is Board Chair of The Fletcher School, a private K-12 school that serves an LD population.
