Akio Yamashita joined Fortress Investment Group (Japan) as Managing Director in 2008 and has served in his current position since March 2013. Prior to joining Fortress, Yamashita was at Morgan Stanley where he led many financings involving corporate restructurings, a management buyout, property acquisitions, pre-REIT bridge financing and other real estate-related financial transactions. From 1984 to 2005, Yamashita worked at the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ) where he led financings in Japan involving infrastructure, property, hospitals and projects. Yamashita received a bachelor’s degree from Hitotsubashi University in 1984 and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

Toru Bando is a Managing Director of Morgan Stanley, Chief Investment Officer of MSREI, Co-Head of North Haven Real Estate Funds (“NHREF”) and the Head of MSREI Asia. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1999 and was named Head of MSREI Asia in 2015, Co-Head of NHREF in 2019 and Chief Investment Officer of MSREI in 2022. Bando is responsible for overseeing MSREI’s investment strategies, the global opportunistic/value-add fund series and all MSREI activity in the Asia region. He has over 22 years of investing experience.

Laurent Jacquemin is currently Head of Asia-Pacific at AXA IM – Real Assets. He is responsible for all operations in the Asia-Pacific region, including overseeing investment, asset management and capital raising activities from the offices in Japan, South Korea and Australia. He is also a member of the Real Assets Management Board. Jacquemin joined AXA IM - Real Assets in 2001 as Corporate Finance Manager in Paris. Between 2006 and 2010 he was Head of Corporate Finance UK, before becoming Global Head of Corporate Finance. He was most recently European Head of Transactions. He began his career at Ernst & Young working in both Paris and Brussels and has over 24 years of experience in the real estate industry. Jacquemin graduated with a master’s degree from EDHEC, a French business school.
