Maureen McAvey is the ULI Bucksbaum Family Senior Resident Fellow for Retail at the Urban Land Institute (ULI) in Washington, D.C. Ms. McAvey concentrates on urban retail and has led several special projects around demographics and future urban development. In this role, she has co-authored a number of annual reports on current strategic issues around most notably “What’s Next? Real Estate in the New Economy.” Other recent efforts have highlighted the potential solutions and best practices in infrastructure development and finance.
Prior to moving into her new role, McAvey was executive vice president for ULI’s Initiatives Group, a position she held since 2006; before that, she was the ULI/Klingbeil Family Senior Resident Fellow for Urban Development from 2001-2006.
Ms. McAvey is a frequent national and international speaker and recently has engaged in dialogues in India, France and participated in conferences in China, Japan and throughout the United States.
