The Center holds several capital markets forums, small invitation-only events, to foster collaboration on a variety of topics that touch upon real estate finance, capital markets, and industry issues. Often forming dynamic partnerships to co-host, the forums allow for networking, dialogue and problem solving.
In March 2012, the ULI Center for Capital Markets and Real Estate and the ULI Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use jointly gathered more than 20 public and private leaders with recent involvement in public-private partnerships for the purpose of investigating the current economy’s influence on financing and structuring these partnerships. Innovative Public-Private Partnerships and Finance, the 2012 ULI Charles H. Shaw Forum on Urban Community Issues, explored innovations, successes, and challenges.
The McCoy Symposium on Real Estate Finance brings together leaders in real estate finance and Investment to discuss issues influencing the capital markets and real estate industry.
Recently, the Center and ULI formed a partnership with the World Economic Forum and will be jointly hosting capital market related forums on undetermined topics with the WEF in the near future. The first ULI/WEF forum was held in June 2012 on the topic of Basel III and Dodd-Frank regulations and their impact on real estate.
The Center also partnered with the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU) to discuss financial barriers to creating mixed use and new urbanist environments.
